Export Demand is Weak on Some Lanes
- Europe and Mediterraneans: surplus of transportation capacity. It's estimated that the increase on rates by USD200/TEU will be postponed to the next month.
- North America: export demand is going down.
- Near-sea shipping line: PSS for Korea line has been increased by USD30/TEU. But the rates for other lines remain the same as in last week.
- YANGMING will adjust BAF in this May. BAF for UK, Northwest continent, Baltic Sea and Scandinavian area will be adjusted to USD517/20', USD1034/40'&40'HQ. For Mediterraneans Sea, Portugal, Spain and northern France, BAF will be adjusted to USD509/20', USD1018/40'&40'HQ.
- BAF for Mediterraneans Sea and Western coast of Europe in May will be adjusted to USD509/TEU.
